The theme for the evening will
be The Wild Wild West, so get your jeans and
cowboy hats ready. There will be prizes for
the best dressed cowgirl and for the best dressed
cowboy! The best decorated table will receive

AMBASSADOR'S CORNER
Some things are hard to put into words. For example, why I’m a seven-year member of the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce. Well, it’s not because I need to grow my business-it’s just the right size for me. It’s not because I want to take advantage of all the advertising and promotional opportunities-although I love meeting people. So then, why???
In the Chamber’s conference room there are pictures of all the past board chairmen, going back to the fifties. I think the early members had a sense of the special community made up of business people. Who else but another business person would have an appreciation of the long hours, the paperwork, the problems of hiring and firing, the governmental regulations, the corporate snafu’s etc. etc. etc. Who else would have a sense of civic involvement, of making improvements, of fair dealing, cooperation on projects, and establishing a good reputation.
These common interests and concerns are the basis for a special community. I’m glad to be part of it, and I hope you will reach out and ask some fellow business person to join us. It’s a community worth growing.
